Try the BBQ wings. Try the Pizza (if you like thin crust). The flavored ice-T is good. The soup in breadbowls is good. The lemonade is really good. Beware of little things being oversold- They dissapoint. (i.e. Special Green Chili Mayonaise is mostly mayonaise with a bit of canned green chili added in).
It's a great "locals" place, and the regulars do get more attention. The casual diner or food critic will have to be a bit more friendly to get extra attention.
The best compliment to Flancer's is that we've been eating there for some years now and it seems they keep the same staff. Same perky cute hostesses that are polite and welcoming, same 3-4 servers that are busy but friendly.
Watch for their pizza eating contest. |

Since I live in Gilbert, I try to patronize the local businesses especially in the Old Town area. This restaurant continues to get good reviews and I keep hoping that I will find out why. But so far no luck. I have been here twice and both times were disagreeable. Both times the sandwiches were very dry. Pickles and garnishes are extra.
The waiter was much more interested in talking with the people sitting in the booth behind us. The bathroom was not very clean and the whole place looks grubby. |

I have found the menu at Flancer's is great. The Philly cheesesteak is the best in the Phoenix area! |
