Being a local Sierra Vistan, I am proud to have such a wonderful place to eat lunch or dinner. The food overall is wonderful, if there happens to be a problem the staff is more than happy to make it right! |

Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment, but we keep returning to Delio's, maybe thinking that 'last time must have been an off night', or 'maybe it'll be a different cook'.
Service there leaves a lot to be desired. Most (not all) of the food tastes like it's based from frozen and then ingrediants just added to.
Think I'd be better off sticking to the new 'chain' Italian place. Foods no better there, but at least it's easier to get to. |

After reading the prior reviews we had high hopes for Delio's in Sierra Vista. In retrospect I should have noticed that several of the reviews were posted on the same day and downgraded the reliability accordingly.
Anyway, we stopped in for dinner when we were staying near Sierra Vista over Thanksgiving weekend. One of us ordered the Gnocchi (with marinara sauce, instead of the meat sauce), the other ordered a half portion of spinach lasagna.
While waiting for our meal we had the opportunity to much on the bread sticks. These tasted as though they were day old: just a bit on the stale side.
Dinner was brought out, and while they were good sized portions, they were nothing special.
In fact, the gnocchi was overcooked to the point of being mushy and covered with what tasted like watered down tomato paste. Not good at all. There was no way I could finish this.
The spinach lasagna was better. The pasta wasn't overcooked, and there was plenty of spinach and cheese to make for a filling portion. But even here, the food was at best average. |

Took us awhile to select from the huge menu of mouth-watering authentic meals. We each started off with a gigantic Margarita, which I recall was under $3.00.
Husband ordered the Pasta Florence and I had the Lasagna, which were both sinfully delicious and comparable to the best Italian meal we have had anywhere. We should have ordered the Pizza, but from the size of it, it looked like a whole meal in and of itself. Next time we will, even if we have to take some home with us. Try it people..it's the best kept secret in Arizona, but don't know for how much longer :~) |

When Delio's opened its doors in 1996, it was exactly what was needed to brighten up the dining choices in Sierra Vista. The owners are almost always there to ensure that the food and service exceed your expectations. The decor is very pretty and tastefully done. I live in Phoenix, but travel to Sierra Vista often and I always make sure that I fit in a meal at Delios! |
