Anyone who's ever snuck food into a theater must surely love the sound of the idea behind the Aurora Cinema Grill: enter the theater, sit at a table, order a dinner, have it brought to you, and enjoy it along with your movie.
The folks at the Aurora Cinema, unfortunately, have neglected a crucial aspect of this equation: the food. I have been here twice already, and the food has been almost consistently disappointing each time. Pizza is doughy and seriously underbaked. Soft drinks are poorly mixed (the Dr. Pepper I ordered was almost indistinguishable from soda water). The sandwiches seem to be the easiest for the cooks to avoid screwing up, but these are uninspired at best.
Still, the Aurora Cinema Grill has something going for it. The cost of admission, though it doesn't cover dinner, is still cheaper than many competing movie houses in the area.
Bottom line: Come for the films, not for the food. |
